This week in my class, we have been working in the program called Final Cut.  This program is used to make videos.  I think it’s handy having at least a small amount of knowledge on how to make videos, but it’s not my favorite thing to do.  I think a lot of people have a talent with video, but I don’t see myself as one of them!  I find it hard to be creative with video.  However, it’s always good to know how to do something like working with Final Cut.  Tomorrow is the last day of my class.  I can definitely say that I’ve learned a lot!

Today in class, we worked on season ticket posters for our athletes.  I chose to do a poster for men’s baseball.  I didn’t enjoy creating the season ticket poster as much as I did the head-shots that we worked on last week. I thought it was a little more challenging to work with InDesign when making these posters.  Next week, we are supposed to work with video, which should be interesting and hopefully fun!

Today in my class, we worked with a program called InDesign.   We made a Bob Dylan poster.  So far, we’ve worked with InDesign, Photoshop and Dreamweaver.  Out of the three, I liked Photoshop the best.  InDesign was similar to Photoshop, but for some reason I enjoyed Photoshop more.  InDesign seemed a little bit more advanced than the other two.  It was a little more complicated to work with, but overall a good program. That’s all for now, tomorrow we are going to use InDesign to make athletic posters.  Should be fun!

Today in my class we all worked on head-shots for athletes at our University.  I chose to work with 5 basketball players.  Once I started to get the hang out working in photoshop and with these head-shots of the players, I started to enjoy what I was doing.  I can’t wait to work with more creative stuff. The only thing that is frustrating is remembering which buttons do what. There are so many different things you can do in photoshop and it’s really easy to forget some of them.  I find it really amazing how people come up with programs like photoshop.  Not to mention how this program is constantly being updated and new things are always being added to it.  I’ve never worked with photoshop, so this is all new to me. I am starting to really enjoy it though. 

I’m taking this class called “Introduction to Mass Communication Technology.”  This class is a requirement for the Journalism department, where I attend school.  I really had no idea what this class was going to be about, until yesterday, which was my first day. During the next 3 weeks, we are going to learn about a bunch of programs that I have never used before in my life.  Yesterday, we used Dreamweaver.  I had never heard of this program and honestly had no idea what it even was before yesterday.  Come to find out, it’s a program that makes websites. I figured there were programs that did this, but didn’t know of any. Today, we worked in photoshop.  I have heard of photoshop, but never used it.  It’s actually really fun.  I didn’t realize how many different things you could do on it.  It seems like the possibilities are endless as far as what you can do on it.  I really enjoyed working on it and hope that with time I will become more acclimated to how to use it.
